Why I Built This

I feel like the online freelance market has a place for small creators all around the world, no matter where you are from, that would benefit from globally available, yet still curated marketplace.

So I built OpenGig. It's a freelance platform powered by Nano digital currency, with end-to-end encrypted communications and a simple 5% platform fee. No hidden charges, no payment processing delays, no access to your private keys or funds.

What I've Been Testing

For the past several months, I've been stress-testing the platform myself. The payment flows, the escrow system, the messaging encryption, the order management. Everything works on a technical level. But here's what I can't test alone: does it make sense to you?

That's the crucial question. I've built something that works for me, but I need to know if the user experience clicks for others. Is the onboarding clear? Do the payment flows feel natural? Does the interface make sense when you're actually trying to get work done?

What Beta Testing Means

This is a real beta. Things might break, there will be bugs, and the experience isn't polished yet. But everything core is functional. You can create gigs, place orders, communicate securely, and receive instant payments through Nano. The escrow system protects both parties, and your funds are always under your control.

What I'm looking for isn't just bug reports, though those are valuable too. I want to understand if the concept resonates. Does a Nano-powered marketplace make sense in your workflow? Are there friction points I haven't considered? What features would make this genuinely useful for you?

Join the Conversation

I've set up a Discord community where we can discuss the platform openly. Share your experience, report issues, suggest features, or just chat about the intersection of crypto and freelancing. I'm active there daily, and I'll be implementing feedback as we go.

The platform is live now. Your feedback will shape what it becomes.
